Case Overview:

This case involved a martial arts instructor (kickboxing) that had a preexisting condition in his left arm of ulnar nerve neuropathy. He saw his physician for right elbow problems and it was diagnosed as bursitis. His arm was then put into a splint. A month later he was seen again and there was improvement of his symptoms. He was told to stop the splint at that time. A couple days later he presented in the hospital with radial neuropathy and wrist drop in his right arm. Over a period of time the radial neuropathy and wrist drop in the right arm resolved as seen in the images of the nerve conduction studies that we provided to the attorneys for their expert’s testimony. The jury found in favor of the defense.
